Enchanted, who said anything about the castle being enchanted!?
Recycle old boxes and kitchen roll tubes to create the Beast’s castle! Perfect for playtime.
- Selection of cardboard boxes: 1 large, 1 medium, 1 shoebox, 1 long and thin
- Kitchen roll tubes - 1 long, 2 medium
- 2 bendable pieces of cardboard
- 1 paper plate
- 3 flat lollipop sticks
- Strong tape
- Light purple, beige, blue, brown acrylic paints
- Paint brushes
Tape the cardboard boxes together to create the basic castle shape, using our image as a guide. Start with the largest box as the base, then add the medium box, small shoe box, and the long thin box.
Take one piece of bendable card and wrap this around the side of the of medium box. This will be the glamorous ballroom!
Tape a paper plate to the top of the rounded cardboard, creating the roof of the ballroom.
Take another piece of cardboard and fold in half. Tape this to the other side of the large box to create another roof on the castle!
Tape the long cardboard cylinders to the front of the large box. These will be the gateway towers.
Add more cardboard cylinders to the corners of the boxes to create extra towers. Glue on the lollipop sticks to create spires on the Beast’s castle.
Paint the castle light purple. If you have difficulty painting over the tape, add a layer of papier mache to the castle first and leave to dry before painting. Paint the top edges of the largest box beige and add beige rings around the gateway towers.
Paint the paper plate roof blue, and the other roofs brown. Draw tiles for a more realistic look.
Print and cut out the Beast’s Castle windows and doors. Glue these to the castle to complete!
