If you’re looking for a fun autumnal snack, then you’ll fall in love with these hidden Mickey caramel apple slices.
The perfect after school treat as the nights draw in.
- 3/4 inch round cutter
- Round piping nozzle
- A small amount of dark chocolate
- Chopped almonds
- Tinned caramel
- Piping bag
Slice apples about 1/2″ thick. Cut out a Mickey shape from the middle of each slice using a 3/4″ round pastry cutter for the head and the back of a round piping nozzle for the ears.
Melt the dark chocolate either in short bursts in the microwave or in a glass bowl over simmering water. Place apples onto parchment paper and using a silicon pastry brush, spread the melted chocolate on the outer edge of the apple slices. Coat with chopped almonds.
Pour some caramel into a piping bag, cut tip, and pipe caramel into Mickey cavity. Chill for 15 minutes, or until the caramel is set. Enjoy!
