For a summer party that’s out of this world, you’re going to need awesome rocket shaped party favours that even M.E.R.C. could make.
Get ready to do some interstellar cutting and decorating with this fun-filled paper and card-based activity. We’re sure everyone at the Tomorrowland Transit Authority would be really impressed!
- Cardboard tube
- Patterned paper
- Tissue paper (red, orange or yellow)
- Double-sided sticky tape
- Thin string
- Silver card
Cut a strip (roughly 6 cm) of tissue paper using two layers. You can use a single colour or add to the decorative effect by attaching strips of different colours to the initial piece.
Cover one end of the cardboard tube with half of the tissue paper and secure with sticky tape. Carefully twist the other half of the tissue paper and secure the twist with the string.
Place two strips of sticky tape on each end of the cardboard tube (one of these will be over the tissue paper).
Cover the tube with the patterned paper and secure in place with more sticky tape.
Draw a circle of about 14 cm in diameter on the foil card. Cut this out, then cut a line from one edge to the centre in order to fold the circle into a cone shape. Secure with sticky tape.
Put your treat inside the cardboard tube. You could even put small toys or healthy snacks inside.
Place a thin strip of sticky tape on the end of the cardboard tube before attaching the silver cone to the top.
Lay on the table during your summer party and watch the kids enjoy the space treats within!
